Domain names preference

This website/blog hasn't been using the same domain name throughout it's existence. I have changed several domains including free ones. Some of the domain names used were musa.shuletime.com, musa.shuletime.org, samwel.ml, musa.gq, musa.website and recently musa.co.tz. Frankly speaking, it was more of a trial and error scenario since non of these domain looked perfect from the time I decided used them. When I used free one was because with other reasons, I didn't want to pay for a domain for just a blog that I hadn't decided what I was going to be posting about.

I wanna talk about what I consider to be a perfect domain name for a personal website, especially my personal website. Firtst and most important factor I would consider when looking for a domain to use in my personal blog/website is simplicity. A simple domain would be short, easy to pronounce and type/write. I wouldn't a website that would take about a minute typing it on a browser. the domain I am currently using musa.one definitely fits that.

I would also go for a domain name that is search engines friendly. By search engines friendly I mean is the domain unique enough to be ranked well with search engines. I wouldn't prefer to choose a domain that when I search it, the first few results are covered by other giant businesses. Ofcource searching musa doesn't give you this website and it's probably not going to be that  way any time soon but searching my full name, or searching  my uniform social media username will give this website at the very top.

I also wanna talk about how I ended up with musa.one as a domain. If I had a choise with all the domain names out there I wouldn't go for this one, and I think I would never even know that .one domain names exist. The domain name musa.me would be my first choice and I would never think twice to buy it, but it's not available just like many cool musa domain including musa.com, musa.org, musa.net, mu.sa and others.

One time I thought about samwel.me. It's still available, it's cool except I think it's not simple (it's long compared to musa.one) and despite the fact that it uses my second name but moat people confuse with the engilish spelling of that name which is Samuel.  I didn't want to be thinking about that.

I know .one domains are not very popular compared to .me and others therefore making it lool strange especially when I'll decide to use it in some area proffesionary but I can live with that. Also hoping .one domains may one day become common or people will just get used to these new domains out there.

I have moved this site to a new domain name samwel.me for several reasons that I might talk about on it's own post in the near future. I bought the new domain, samwel.me yesterday 27th of July.
